ROLE OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a fantastic Santa Claus performer who can create warm, natural and memorable interactions with children and their families throughout the festive season.
Santa will be at the heart of the Grotto experience, welcoming families following their journey aboard the North Pole Express.
This role requires much more than simply wearing the costume. We’re looking for someone who can completely embody the character, confidently improvise and make every child feel as though their individual visit is special.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Santa Claus, you will:

• Welcome children and their families into Santa's Grotto
• Deliver warm, engaging and personalised interactions with each family
• Confidently improvise and respond naturally to children
• Create magical conversations that feel genuine and individual
• Present children with their special Christmas gifts
• Create memorable moments for family photographs
• Maintain character consistently throughout each performance day
• Adapt interactions appropriately for different ages and personalities
• Work within the timings and operational requirements of the Grotto
• Work closely with the Heads of Ayr Farm Park team to ensure the guest experience runs smoothly
• Maintain excellent standards of professionalism and safeguarding at all times
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who is:
• A confident and experienced character performer
• Naturally warm, friendly and engaging with children
• A strong improviser who can think quickly and respond naturally
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of families
• Able to create a believable and authentic Santa character
• Patient and able to maintain enthusiasm across repeated guest interactions
• Confident working within a busy family attraction
• Reliable, professional and comfortable working as part of a wider event team
Previous experience performing as Santa or within immersive family entertainment is advantageous.

LOCATION & TRAVEL
These roles will be based at:
Heads of Ayr Farm Park
Ayrshire, Scotland
We are particularly interested in hearing from performers who are local to the farm or live within a reasonable commuting distance, as performers will be responsible for travelling to and from the venue throughout the contract.
INDUCTION
All successful performers will be required to attend an induction day at Heads of Ayr Farm Park ahead of the Christmas season.

Induction Date: TBC

CONTRACT INFORMATION
Fee
£250 per full day (9am – 7pm)
£125 per half day (9am – 2pm)
These roles will be offered on a self-employed contract.
All successful applicants must:
• Hold their own valid Public Liability Insurance
• All successful applicants must hold their own valid Public Liability Insurance and hold, or be willing to obtain, the appropriate PVG Scheme membership for the role.
• Provide all required documentation ahead of the engagement
• Be able to travel reliably to Heads of Ayr Farm Park for their contracted dates
• Attend the required induction day
CASTING & MANAGEMENT
TAG Live® is managing the casting process for these roles.
Once contracted and working at the event, performers will be managed operationally by the Heads of Ayr Farm Park team.
Performers will therefore be expected to work closely with the venue team and follow all operational, performance, safeguarding and guest-experience procedures throughout the engagement.

We’re looking for wonderful Mrs Claus performers to bring warmth, personality and festive fun to the Christmas experience at Heads of Ayr Farm Park.
Mrs Claus will play an important role within the wider guest journey, welcoming families and delivering Christmas storytelling, crafts and interactive festive activities.
We’re looking for confident performers who can capture children's imaginations, command a room when delivering a story or activity and create relaxed, natural interactions with families throughout the day.

Due to the amount of dates and working hours we are looking for 2 x female identifying performers to play Mrs Claus on different dates, please see both sets of dates below.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As Mrs Claus, you will:
• Perform in character as Mrs Claus throughout the experience
• Welcome and interact with children and families
• Deliver engaging Christmas stories
• Lead and support festive craft activities
• Encourage participation and interaction from children
• Create fun, warm and memorable guest moments
• Confidently improvise and respond to children's questions
• Adapt your delivery for different ages and audience sizes
• Maintain character consistently throughout the day
• Help create a welcoming and magical Christmas atmosphere
• Work closely with the Heads of Ayr Farm Park operational team
• Maintain excellent standards of professionalism and safeguarding

Experience within children's entertainment, immersive performance, presenting, storytelling or character work would be advantageous.
